The Dirty Truth: 5 Reasons Why Public Restrooms are the Worst
Share
Why I hate using public restrooms
1. Lack of cleanliness:
Let's face it, public restrooms are rarely as clean as we'd like them to be. From questionable stains on the toilet seat to empty soap dispensers, it's no wonder why many people dread using them.
2. Lack of privacy:
Have you ever been trying to do your business in a stall and someone tries to open the door? Or worse, when there's a big gap between the door and the wall, leaving you feeling exposed and vulnerable. It's enough to give anyone bathroom anxiety.
3. Unpleasant odors:
It's no secret that public restrooms can smell less than pleasant. It's like playing a game of Russian roulette every time you open the door. Will it be a faint scent of bleach or a blast of eau de porta-potty?
4. Germs galore:
According to a study by the University of Arizona, there can be up to a million bacteria per square inch in public restrooms. That's enough to make anyone want to hold it in until they get home.
5. Awkward encounters:
Let's not forget the fear of running into someone you know while washing your hands or having to make small talk while in a stall next to a stranger. Can't we all just agree to ignore each other's presence in public restrooms?
Opinion:
Public restrooms may be a necessary evil, but there are definitely steps we can take to make them less anxiety-inducing. Be sure to use hand sanitizer and avoid touching surfaces as much as possible.
But let's not take ourselves too seriously, because at the end of the day, we're all just trying to survive the bathroom battle. So next time you find yourself in a less-than-ideal public restroom situation, just remember you're not alone.
So tell us, does the thought of using a public restroom make you cringe or do you have a hilarious horror story to share? Let's commiserate together in the comments.
